Satilla Rail Services ("Satilla," "we," "us") provides diesel-electric locomotive repair, inspection, parts sourcing, and brokerage services. This policy describes the information we collect through satillarail.com (the "Site") and in the course of doing business with us, and how we use it.

Information you provide

When you contact us by email or engage our services, we collect the information you choose to share — typically your name, company, contact details, information about your equipment or project, and the records needed to prepare estimates and invoices.

Invoicing and payments

The Site itself has no checkout and collects no payment information. When we invoice you for services, we issue the invoice through Stripe, Inc., which means we share the details needed to bill you — such as your name, company, email address, and the amounts due. You pay on Stripe's secure, hosted invoice page; card and bank details are entered directly with Stripe and never pass through our website or servers. Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool hosted on our own infrastructure, to understand aggregate Site traffic — page views, referring sites, browser type, and country-level location. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal identifiers, and its data is never shared with or sold to anyone.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and diagnostics. Logs are retained only as long as needed for those purposes.

Embedded content

The Site embeds video from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode; if you play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect data and set cookies under its own privacy policy. The Site may also load fonts from Google Fonts, which involves transmitting your IP address to Google's servers.

Cookies

We do not set cookies ourselves, and our analytics is cookieless. The embedded YouTube player described above may set its own cookies if you play a video. Paying an invoice happens on Stripe's own website, where Stripe's cookie practices apply.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to respond to inquiries; provide, schedule, and invoice services; process payments; maintain business and tax records; improve the Site; and comply with legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — such as payment processing, web hosting, and email — with professional advisors where necessary, or when required by law.
